Judy Whalen is president of Whalen & Associates, Inc., a consulting firm that helps organizations think and act in ways that enable them to be more innovative and competitive.  Whalen & Associates specializes in strategic planning, market research and communication strategies.  Its clients include both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.  Its clients are manufacturing companies, associations, health care providers, educational organizations, service businesses, chambers of commerce, foundations and public entities. Judy’s clients include school districts, health care organizations, day care centers, large international trade associations, nonprofits of all shapes and sizes and private corporations and individuals. 

Throughout her 30-year career, Judy has had the unique opportunity of working with many nonprofit boards of directors and staff.  Prior to starting W&A in 1992, Judy served as president of an association management company in Chicago, as executive director and chief lobbyist for the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers, as associate director for the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, as director of corporate development and administration for a private consulting firm, as public information coordinator for a K-12 school district and as a second grade teacher.

Judy has served as Treasurer of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Foundation Board of Trustees and has held numerous leadership positions in other state and national organizations. Judy has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  In addition, she has graduate credits in public policy and has completed the six-year Institute for Organization Management at Notre Dame, sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
